Feast or Famine

Feast or Famine

Yes I would like to participate and take a look to see how the children survive without adults and less food. Children everywhere should live in safety. When a disaster strikes, we can make all the difference by providing life-saving essentials like food, clean water, education and healthcare. We can help children start to heal in a safe, supportive environment. When the children receive vital support and counselling, they can start to heal from the trauma they've experienced.

  1. Hello Helena,

Lovely to see you back online today completing as many activities as you can. We will count up how many you have completed and tell you if you have missed any. But you are on the right track to completing the programme, kai pai!

I too would like to participate in the 40 hour famine. It’s such a good cause and sometimes we don’t actually understand what hardships (severe suffering) people go through. By not eating for a long period of time it allows us to have some sort of understanding.

I did not know that our money went towards doing this.Thank you for sharing all these facts with you. Are you going to participate this year? You should definitely try!

  2. As a Coptic Orthodox we fast most of the year, but Good Friday is more special. We don't eat or drink from sunrise to sunset so in general we have a good idea how these people might be feeling.

  3. Hello Helena,
I am Vitaraag and I am participating in the Summer Learning Journey this year! I come from the Ako Hiko cluster. I really enjoyed reading this blog post! Let me explain on why I like it. Firstly, you added a picture to make the blog post more interesting. Secondly, you explained in detail why you would do it. I would also take part to help other people in need I would probably give up devices. I heard that if you show kindness someday it will come right back at you. Maybe next time you could add a bit of back story about the activity. Overall, this is a phenomenal blog post! Keep up the astonishing work!
