COKE VS. PEPSI
During the “Cola Wars” in the 1980s, the Atlanta-based company was losing market share to rival Pepsi and feeling the pressure to win back consumers swayed by Pepsi’s famous taste test “experiments,” TV advertisements in which blindfolded consumers voted in favor of Pepsi over Coke.
Kia ora Helena,
ReplyDeleteHope you’re enjoying your Summer Holidays! Although the past couple days have been really overcast, windy and cold. I would love to know what you have gotten up to over the past couple weeks. I spent most of my holiday with my friends and family in Mangawhai (1.5 hours north of Auckland).
This is such a clever choice to pick between because this rivalry is still so relevant. There has always been a war between the two soft drink companies mainly because their products are closely linked by taste. I also really like how you gave us examples of how pepsi motivated the market through their advertisements. Advertisements are really the make or break for a product. Can you think of any stand out advertisements?
Which do you prefer the taste of coke or pepsi? I prefer coke! Keep up the awesome work.

I like the taste of Pepsi more.
DeleteGreat blog post Helena about rivalry. Having a rival can be a positive thing because they can help and empower you to be better than before...do you have a rival? Keep blogging, and commenting on others, to increase your chance of winning one of the awesome prizes and to keep up your learning over the school break!
ReplyDeleteI don't really have a rival but my family always encourage me to do better in everything I do.
