  1. Wow Helena,

You’ve done a fantastic job collecting materials. Did you manage to find everything on the list ok?

I love this flower! It’s so beautiful, it looks like a daisy! You could make so many and paint them different colours if you’d like!

What sort of experiments do you think you’ll be using your equipment for? What other things around the classroom and home do you think you could use to build science experiments?

Good job on starting the Summer Learning Journey, I look forward to seeing all your future blog posts! What activities are you most excited for?

    Ka kite anō,

  2. Hi Shannon, as a start thank you so much for taking the time to check my blog post and leave a positive comment. About the flower / daisy yes all the materials were in the kitchen so I didn't struggle to make something out of it. We can try the flying tea bag / the flying ball / elephant Tooth Paste, we did all these experiments in the school.

  3. Hi Helena,

    Thank you for your reply!

What's the flying tea bag experiment? It sounds hilarious! How do you do it?

I've also never heard of elephant toothpaste. What's that?

I look forward to your response and hope you had a great Christmas!

    Bye for now,
    Shannon (SLJ)

  4. The flying tea bag experiment is really a heat experiment as the flame burns it heats the air inside the hollow center of the tea bag.As the air gets hotter the molecules become less dense and move around. The less dense warmer air rises above the more dense cooler air around the tea bag. Since the tea bag is so light it rises with it and appears to fly.
