Dave Dillion

One of the facts I found about Dave Dillion was that he
went to Sacred Heart College for Boys in Auckland.

The key points he talked about this morning was believe
in yourself, work hard and never give up on what you
believe in or in your dreams.

Anton Lienert-Brown

Lienert-Brown began his career when he was playing for
Christchurch Boys' High School, where he caught the eye
with his excellent performances in the South Island finals 2012.

On 28 August, All Blacks Head Coach, Steve Hansen named
Lienert-Brown as one of 31 players in New Zealand's squad
for the 2019 Rugby World Cup

The key points he talked about this morning was To never give
up on your dreams. You need to work hard to achieve our dreams
and believe in your dreams.

Easter Egg Origin

As an Egyptian that comes from a Coptic Orthdox family so today is our Easter Sunday.  In Christian tradition, Easter falls on the first Sunday after the first full moon. In our tradition the egg represents the resurrection, it's a symbol of new life as it represents Jesus' emergence from the tomb and resurrection. The hard shell of the egg represents the sealed Tomb of Christ, and cracking the shell represents Jesus’ resurrection from the dead. In  the olden days the eggs are dyed red to represent the blood of Jesus Christ that was shed on the cross. The origin of the coloring of the eggs started in Ancient Egypt as they celebrated the Spring Festival. At the eve of the Spring Festival Pharaohs carved on eggs some prayers to their Gods in order for the god to answer them. As the hieroglyphic letters were composed of birds, animals, plants. Some believed them to be a model of the Egyptian art regarding egg decoration. They colored eggs with bright colors made of natural plants and flowers such as parsley, green onion. Coloring eggs were the main aspects of marking the Spring Festival by ancient Egyptians.

Family Flag

This is my family flag, there are 3 people in my bubble plus myself in my household
and that is why there are 4 around the flag. There’s my parents to the left,
Egypt is in our hearts, and my sister & I to the right.

living in the 40s

If I lived in the 40s men would be wearing  a suit and tie and women would be wearing an elegant dress rather than jeans and a T-shirt. In the 1940s, you weren’t fully dressed unless you had a hat on. Gloves were a fashion statement for women of the 1940s. From practical gloves to match your everyday outfits to glamorous opera gloves that went past the elbow. But I will miss my favourite TV show and modern music. I will miss not having a phone or mobile or DVD player. In winter we’ll be using the fireplace in the living room, no oil heater in the bedroom.

If there was 8 more kids in the family

If there were 8 more kids in my family I would hate it, because we will be fighting over the Remote for the TV and which room we will be in. I think it’ll be hard to get along with each other as I already find it hard sometimes to deal with my only sister. We’ll need a van, maybe a bus so mum or dad can take us to school. I can’t imagine how long it will take mum to prepare 8 more lunch boxes or get them dressed in time for school. We would be fighting in what sport to play outside  or which movie or cartoon to watch. I think having one sister in my case is just as good as it gets.

My Dream Job

My Dream job is becoming a scientist to discover lots of cures like the corona virus. I have been watching the news and I see that so far no one has discovered a cure for the Corona Virus. Nobody knows why the virus which used to infect animals has transformed and started infecting and killing humans. I want to help solve huge global problems, new discoveries are being made about the human immune system and cancer so everything is possible. I want to find the root cause of such issues and find a solution to these issues as a Scientist in future. Sometimes a discovery in the lab can lead to new medicine or a diagnostic test that gives an early warning of disease.
